The 5th album by coastal art rockers - Victoriana Gaye “The Freest of the Free”. Recorded in the hills above Mullumbimby in the Winter of 2016. Songs about Love, flood babies, finding your own true gang and the inherited weight of the future of our planet. Freest of the Free see’s Victoriana Gaye taking a completely different approach. Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, trumpet and shared lead-harmony singing is still the backbone of the Victoriana Gaye sound, but added to this for the first time the Northern Rivers rhythm section of Dave Sanders on drums and Thierry Fossemalle on bass, and the production of Christian Pyle, and the net result is something real and true. Vicki and Jeff write all the songs together and cite their influences as jazz, classic movie soundtracks, psychedelia and their own blend of indie/folk/rock. credits released December 24, 2016 Victoriana Gaye is Vicki Philipp and Jeff Raglus. All songs written by Victoriana Gaye. All tracks published by Head Records (Mushroom Music Publishing). Track 6 is dedicated to the late great Ross Hannaford. Produced by Victoriana Gaye and Christian Pyle. Winter 2016. Engineered, recorded and mixed by Christian Pyle at The Prawn and Spanner Studio. Goonangerry. Northern NSW. This album was recorded with Dave Sanders on drums and Thierry Fossemalle on bass. Big thanks to Dave and Thierry for all their support, energetic input and great arrangement ideas.
