Nam June Paik at the 45th Biennale d'Arte in Venice. Nam June Paik is present at the German Pavilion in his capacity as "Ehren-Gast-Arbeiter" (honorary guest worker) for the Federal Republic of Germany. Paik was born in Seoul (Korea) in 1932 and is a philosopher and a historian of music and art. Since 1958, he has lived alternately in Germany and the United States; today, he is acknowledged as the"father of video art". -- from dust jacket.
